How We Got Started

Bieber-Baratta Productions is a documentary production group based in Ithaca, New York. Ryan Bieber and James Baratta are journalists who are interested in the climate crisis, which is arguably the story of our time. They will be graduating from Ithaca College in May 2022. Now, Ryan and James have teamed up to produce a documentary about decarbonization in the City of Ithaca. 

 

In October 2021, the Ithaca Common Council voted to decarbonize the City. The Council’s decision, which made national headlines, comes as climate change intensifies around the world. Some say that Ithaca could serve as a model for other American cities that have yet to authorize and implement a Green New Deal. “Green Cities, Green Deals” seeks to demystify the complex, years-long process of decarbonization in Ithaca and beyond. It considers market perspectives and practices.
