In 2019, the City of Ithaca approved its very own Green New Deal — making it one of the first US cities to initiate an infrastructural transformation toward renewable energy and decarbonization. Ithaca will serve as a road map for more than 150 municipalities statewide. With the help of private equity, the local government has acquired roughly $100 million in investments to kickstart Ithaca's Green New Deal.
BB Productions follows environmental justice activists in their efforts to advance climate legislation in the State Legislature, highlighting the youth-driven energy of the movement. Three years later, this is where the City stands.
